Passion gets you noticed. Proof gets you funded.

Most nonprofits win hearts with their stories but lose the grant because they can’t prove their impact.

It’s easy to tell a story that pulls at the heartstrings, but funders today don’t just fund good intentions.

They fund measurable impact.

The Hobbs Foundation in Florida is a prime example: their 2026 guidelines explicitly require you to define "specific outcomes," "outcomes measurements," and a "concise statement of need." Without these, even the most moving story will fall short. We help you bridge the gap between your passion and the data-backed proof foundations are looking for.

The Training Ground: The Hobbs Foundation Grant

The Deadline is April 1st.

We don’t believe in learning in a vacuum.

To master this system, we are going after a live opportunity together: the 2026 Hobbs Foundation Grant.

By using a real-world application as our laboratory, you will move from "guessing" what funders want to submitting a data-backed proposal.

Letter of Intent due April 1, 2026.

You won’t just leave with a submitted application.

You will leave with a reusable master narrative that you can pivot for every grant opportunity in your pipeline.

4 Weeks. 4 Sessions. Endless Applications.

Week 1 (March 4): The Theory of Change - Grant Readiness

  • The Goal: Define your "Why."
  • The Output:  We refine your mission to ensure your outcomes are inherent to your core messaging, making it easy for funders to see the direct value of your work.

Week 2 (March 11): The Logic Model - Impact Measurement

  • The Goal: Build the Roadmap.
  • The Output: A completed Logic Model diagram (Inputs, Activities, Outcomes) that proves to the funder exactly how you will deliver results.

Week 3 (March 18): The Narrative & Budget - A Compelling Storyline

  • The Goal: Craft the Story.
  • The Output: We draft the actual prose for your application narrative and build a line-item budget that funders trust.

Week 4 (March 25): The Final Polish & Submission

  • The Goal: Evaluation & Submission.
  • The Output: We review your draft using an "Evaluator's Eye," bulletproofing your data collection plan before you hit submit.

Led by Jessica Abram

Former Classroom Teacher & Professional Evaluator

Writing a grant isn't just about filling in boxes; it's about translating your passion into the rigid logic funders require.

With a background in classroom teaching, Jessica doesn't just lecture. She draws the answers out of you. You get the structural rigor of a professional evaluator combined with the hands-on support of a private consultant.

"We don't leave this cohort until your narrative is ready to submit."

What we do at Schools That Lead is fairly complex and challenging to unpack. Jessica has outstanding listening and questioning skills and these talents produced an initial logic model and theory of change that we refined to a final document in less than 20 minutes. These assets will serve STL well in our quest to expand our work to new partners.

President & CEO - SCHOOLS THAT LEARN

The process itself was incredibly valuable. It helped us get sharper alignment as a team, clarify our core messaging, and articulate our impact and model in a much more cohesive and compelling way.

Common Questions

What if I miss a live session?

All sessions are recorded and uploaded to a private folder within 2 hours. However, this is a participatory workshop, not a lecture. To get the most value (and the completed narrative), we highly recommend attending live.

Can I invite a colleague to sit in?

Yes. The $2,500 seat covers your organization. You may have up to two team members (e.g., an Executive Director and a Program Manager) attend the Zoom calls together.

Is the grant funding guaranteed?

No. We guarantee a submission-ready application that meets the highest professional standards. The final funding decision rests solely with the NAMED FUNDER for that cohort).

Do I need to be a 501(c)(3)?

Yes. This particular Grantor (and most grants we target) requires 501(c)(3) status or a fiscal sponsor. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please reply to Jessica's email before registering.
