Driving Real Change: Bloom Education Group's Impact

At Bloom Education Group, our mission is "rooted in helping children, young adults, and lifelong learners bloom where they are planted by ensuring the programs that serve them are effective, equitable, and continually improving".

We are passionate about transforming data into tangible, positive change within educational systems and communities.

Our impact extends across various sectors, demonstrating how strategic evaluation and data-driven insights lead to measurable success.

Stories of Transformation

Our commitment to impact is built on a foundation of deep experience, spanning Jessica Abram's journey and Bloom Education Group's collaborations:

Early Insights from the Classroom

Jessica Abram's foundational experience as a Teach For America middle school English teacher in the Mississippi Delta revealed the profound need for data-driven strategies. Through her innovative classroom designs, her students didn't just meet expectations; they outperformed the state average by 20 points and the district average by 35 points on the 2015 PARCC exam. This direct impact on student outcomes was her first lesson in using data to reimagine what's possible, forming the bedrock of Bloom’s approach.

Operational Excellence

As Director of School Operations at KIPP Massachusetts, Jessica led human capital and business operations for 500 students and 50 staff, managing a $6.8 million budget. Her strategic plan for overhauling operational procedures resulted in a remarkable 305% increase in staff satisfaction with school operations, demonstrating her ability to drive measurable improvements in efficiency, trust, and culture. She also successfully secured continued state funding by redesigning reporting systems for nutrition guidelines and improved parent satisfaction by optimizing student transportation routes.

Empowering Rural Colleges

Bloom Education Group is deeply committed to equity, ensuring systems work for underserved communities, including rural populations. Jessica's work with the Education Design Lab's Rural College Design and Data Academy exemplifies this. She supports rural colleges in designing and implementing valuable credentials explicitly aligned with regional labor market demands, fostering economic mobility right where students are planted.

Strengthening College Access

Jessica evaluated a multi-institutional grant initiative for the Woodward Hines Foundation, Mississippi’s largest education foundation, which funds student success programs across the state’s public colleges and universities. Her evaluation of their "Get2College’s Sweet Magnolia College Tour" program revealed significant growth: survey results showed educators' perceptions, familiarity with colleges, confidence in counseling, and likelihood of recommending colleges all improved. This crucial work directly supports Mississippi's "Ascent to 55%" goal—that 55% of adults will have a postsecondary degree or credential.

Workforce Development and Community Empowerment

Our partnership with Coahoma Community College on the Tiger Learning Institute for Skill Building and Professional Development is a prime example of Bloom's mission in action. This program equips college students and educators in the Mississippi Delta with workforce-relevant skills through microcredentials in Health Sciences, Bookkeeping, and Leadership. By embedding data-driven evaluation from participant recruitment to community advisory board meetings, Bloom ensures the initiative is impactful, equitable, culturally responsive, and sustainable, helping individuals thrive exactly where they are.

The Bloom Education Group is phenomenal. They have some of the most knowledgeable consultants, and my experience with Jessica has been inspiring! Jessica was more than just a consultant. She went above what is required in assisting us with our pilot project, the "Tiger Learning Institute."
